American dad. Australian mom. Two kids. Way too many passport stamps.
We never planned to become "travel experts."
We're just parents who refused to stop traveling when we had kids. Our first international trip with a baby was to Australia — 17 hours in the air with a 4-month-old. Everyone told us we were crazy.
They weren't entirely wrong. But we made it. And we learned a LOT.
Since then, we've taken our kids across four continents — Australia, Europe (France, Italy, Amsterdam, London), Canada, Mexico, and all over the USA. We've done red-eye flights, 17-hour long-hauls, train rides through Europe, beach resorts, national parks, Disney, and family visits across the world.
Every trip taught us something new:
We're not perfect. We've had meltdowns (the kids and us). We've forgotten things. We've had trips that didn't go as planned.
But we keep traveling. Because the memories we're making with our kids are worth every chaotic moment.
After our third big trip, friends started asking us for advice:
"How did you do that flight?"
"What did you pack?"
"Is it even worth traveling with kids that young?"
We found ourselves on hour-long calls, sharing everything we'd learned. And we realized: this is actually useful. There's so much generic advice out there, but not many people sharing the real, practical, been-there-done-that perspective.
So we started Traveling With Kids. Not as travel agents — we don't book trips or earn commissions. Just as parents who've done it, helping other parents do it too.
The planner. Builds spreadsheets for packing lists. Always has a backup plan. Based in Austin, Texas.
The adventurer. Australian-born, so long flights feel normal. Keeps everyone calm when plans fall apart.
Ages 4 and 1. Professional airport runners. Surprisingly good at international travel (most of the time).
We love helping families travel better. If you're planning a trip and want the real talk — not generic blog advice — book a call with us.
